Positive Parenting

As a Certified Positive Discipline Parent and Classroom Educator, I help adults find ways to develop positive approaches in their parenting styles that empower kids to develop into capable and contributing members within families, classrooms, and society. I use experiential and hands-on methods that are effective and thoughtful. Each six-week course and parenting workshop consists of exercises that you can immediately apply in your daily lives with all of your children to find successful rewards.

Positive Discipline is for parents who are looking for long-term parenting skills that will encourage their children to think for themselves, become more responsible and have a greater respect for themselves and others.  The teachings of Positive Discipline are filled with non-punitive, respectful methods that will incorporate kindness and firmness into parenting, help parents get to the core of their child’s misbehavior, bring more joy into the home and give parents a sense of accomplishment.

Positive Parenting for Teens

Teens may challenge us in ways that we might not have expected or are ready for.  As they start to change and grow into young adulthood, it is the perfect time to connect and find ways to stay positively present in their lives. Through our Positive Discipline for Teens course, you will find ways to allow for the natural individuation process and create mutual respect for all.

Parenting classes are held through the Lifelong Learning Center & Families First Learning Lab.
