Be Well Schools

Amy will present at the National Dropout Prevention Conference in Denver, October 5th-8th, 2019

Be Well Teachers- Creating Well-being in Our Lives and Our Classrooms (90 minute workshop)

"You never know who has chosen you as their role model!"  Teachers are passionate, hard-working, and dedicated individuals. However, as each year gets busier with the things we feel we have to do, teach, and focus on, we sometimes forget to take care ourselves. If we want calm, relaxed, confident and happy students, we should focus on how we accomplish these attributes in our own lives. This workshop will take an experiential approach to examining our own daily routines and teaching practices in hopes that we can promote well-being in the classroom every day.  We will create a personal well-being model with some activities to take into the classroom immediately.

Be Well Students- Creating Well-being in the Lives of Our Students (90 minute workshop)

Ever wondered how to teach kids about well-being?  This experiential workshop will give you hands-on exercises and activities for your classroom, Advisory program, or whole grade level settings.  We will explore focusing, centering, and calming strategies related to mindfulness and social and emotional learning. The focus will be on helping children develop attention, bodily awareness, emotional stability, and interpersonal skills in order to create confident, happy, and successful students.

Positive Discipline in the Classroom

(1/2 day workshop)

In order to help kids thrive in the classroom, they have to find a sense of belonging and find significant ways to contribute.  Through a variety of different approaches to classroom management, shared responsibilities, and class meetings, Positive Discipline allows all kids to develop their strengths and find their place in the classroom in meaningful ways.  All members of the community benefit from Positive Discipline.

Yoga and Movement in the Classroom

(2-3 hour workshop)

Kids and teens love to move! Through movement we can activate and wake up the brain to enhance learning and promote well being.  In this experiential workshop teachers can learn how to incorporate movement and body/brain activities into the classroom immediately.  Participants will walk away with the tools and confidence to lead both energizing and calming "brain breaks."  Be prepared to be active and have fun!

Dynamic Group Building

(Length of workshop based on group's needs)

Dynamic group building leads to better understanding, working with and tolerating differences, and finding ways to support each other, collaborate, and communicate more effectively.  In this experiential workshop, staff, colleagues, and co-workers unite through structured and safe group experiences using a variety of icebreakers, challenge tasks, cooperative initiatives, and debriefing conversations.
